Horseshoes have always been known to be lucky.

When kept as a talisman, a horseshoe is said to bring good luck. Made of iron, a material which was believed to ward off evil spirits, some believe that to hang it with the ends pointing upwards is good luck as it acts as a storage container of sorts for any good luck that happens to be floating by, whereas to hang it with the ends pointing down, is bad luck as all the good luck will fall out. Others believe that the horseshoe should be hung the other way (with the ends pointing down), as it will then release its luck to the people around it.

Giving a horseshoe to a bride is a long standing tradition. Well before Christian times a horseshoe was thought to represent the crescent moon and was therefore a very potent fertility charm ! However, more recently, in Victorian times the tradition was established as a way of bringing good luck to the newlyweds for the duration of their lives together.

We associate the Black Cat with magical powers, whether good or bad. In Scotland, a black cat appearing on your doorstep is a sign of prosperity. In England, a black cat as a wedding present is thought to bring good luck to the bride.

Making my black Cats and Kittens especially lucky as wedding presents.

So here is your chance to own a piece of that luck in the form of a hand crafted and individual sculpture for your home or garden.
